Duties & Responsibilities            

  • Responsible for producing compelling content that increases the University’s ability to tell consistent and meaningful stories.
  • Craft content for a wide variety of audiences and channels, including print, web, and email.
  • Drafting and producing news stories for the web and media magazine, web features, annual report and everything related to QU publications, copywriting, editing, and proofreading.
  • Proofread content; ensure consistency of languages through publications.
  • Create and release sign batches to all stores;
  • Support various marketing department proofreading requests including advertising, social media sites, product packaging, and flyer messages;
  • Write clear, persuasive, original copy with minimal supervision, this may include media releases, advertising copy, slogans, zingers, catch phrases, scripts (such as ads, social media posts);
  • Ensure consistency through all marketing materials.
  • Develop engaging content for articles, stories, and social media to entice and engage audience,
  • Proofread content for errors or additions and ensure that content is written per directives.
  • Collaborates with Branding and marketing team to deliver an effective content marketing strategy and editorial plan to meet the strategic objectives at minimum cost.
  • Make sure that web page content is edited properly to increase on-screen readability.
  • Ensure that content contains enough keywords for search engine optimization.
  • Rewrite, paraphrase or write content from scratch depending on specific instructions provided in the work order.
  • Act as a source of content marketing and subject matter expertise for internal teams.
  • Develop prototypes and storyboards using a variety of media creation and graphics editing tools. Copy edit and review content for style guidelines and brand consistency.

Qualifications            

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or other relevant degree is required
  • Demonstrated ability to produce content for a wide range of audiences in a wide range of styles.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience writing copy for an organization, preferably a marketing department in an educational environment
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both oral and written, with professional experience in writing, editing and communicating in English and Arabic
  • Experience in marketing software
  • Exceptionally strong writing in many different styles, proofing, and editing skills
  • Ability to analyze and present content and social performance
  • Experience with WordPress, Google analytics, Slide share, and the top social channels
  • Ability to work on strict deadlines and schedules.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Perfect spelling and grammar
