Job Details
The Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering at Northumbria University has particular strengths in the novel monitoring and analysing of earth slopes, highway pavements, historic structures and water systems, and sediment transport; and in advanced materials and methods for future construction, including sustainable cementitious materials and structural elements for modular construction.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow to strengthen and consolidate our existing activity, and to grow our research in the areas of numerical geotechnics, highway materials, numerical modelling of water and environmental chemistry, and railway infrastructure. Excellent candidates in any area of Civil Engineering are also welcome to apply.
You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your extensive knowledge and subject expertise through individual and collaborative academic activities. Successful candidates will be selected according to the excellence of their research profile and plans regardless of their area of research interest.
Candidates are encouraged to include a two-page research plan in their application as well as details of recent publications in excellent international journals.
