An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified and experienced Mental Health Specialist to work within Student Services at Aston University.

You will be required to deliver appropriate mental health support to students experiencing mental health difficulties whilst at University to enable them to engage successfully with their studies. This includes clinical assessment, risk management, responding to crisis situations, single session therapeutic consultations, and collaborative working both within the University and externally. You will also have a caseload of complex students who require longer term support and monitoring.

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration, who has experience of working with young adults, and a proven ability to assess risk of harm to self or others, managing or referring appropriately when the need arises.

The post is based at Aston University campus but may require occasional outreach work within the West Midlands.

The successful candidate is required to have clearance to work with children and adults from the DBS (The Disclosure and Barring Service).
