This post offers an exciting opportunity for integrated academic and clinical training to those who are advanced in their specialty training, have completed a research doctorate or equivalent in a relevant field and show outstanding potential for continuing a career in Vascular Academic Surgery. Doctors with speciality experience and who have completed a PhD/MD (or equivalent in a relevant field) are eligible to apply. Clinical Lectureships are designed for those who have already had a substantial period of clinical training, and for candidates working towards a CCT.

The successful applicant will be expected to continue to develop an academic career in health services research and the design and delivery of randomised trials in surgery, within the themes relevant to the Centre for Surgical Research, by further research activity including publications and grant submissions. They will be expected to maintain and consolidate competencies and experience as a specialist trainee in order to gain a CCT in Vascular Surgery, and to prepare a high-quality application for either new research or a post-doctoral or clinician scientist research fellowship. They will also be expected to take part in and gain more experience of teaching in a variety of contexts.

It is expected that interviews will take place on 28 February 2019.
