About the role
This role will be part of the ISEC research group’s pioneering work in the area of Human-as-a-Sensor technologies. Users are often better than technical security measures at detecting deception attempts, such as cyber threats and fake news. The aim here is to contribute to the development of real-world applications of the human-as-a-sensor paradigm in tackling disinformation as well as semantic social engineering attacks by involving users.
We are looking for a research developer who is at the same time a confident programmer and genuinely interested in research at the cutting edge of information trustworthiness and cyber security. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to strengthen their CV for industry positions or to pursue a PhD. The successful candidate will collaborate with Dr. George Loukas and Dr. Ryan Heartfield.
This is a UoG JobShop role of 26 weeks for 20 hours per week, or equivalent.
Role requirements
- Demonstrably strong programming skills
- 1st class marks in an undergraduate computer science programme
- Experience in mobile app development
