Training Manager

The Institute For the Future (IFF), University of Nicosia (UNIC) is seeking an Events Manager to supervise the design, development and implementation of conferences and events organized by IFF, including the annual Decentralized conference (www.decentralized.com) and the M competition conference (https://www.mcompetitions.unic.ac.cy).
 
Job Purpose
Reporting to the IFF Director, the Training Manager will oversee and coordinate a growing team of UNIC and external faculty, student and instructor support staff, as well as other IFF members. The jobholder will design, develop and administer training programs, both online and face-to-face/hybrid, assess training and development needs of organizations and make recommendations for customized training programs. He/she will help developing skills and knowledge within IFF to support professional training and executive education programs, create and review training material, delivers training sessions and monitor training for effectiveness.
 
Main accountabilities

• Selects and analyzes requirements for training,
• Determines training needs and requirements,
• Proposes training programmes,
• Negotiates with potential clients,
• Creates training materials to meet specific training needs,
• Schedules and delivers training sessions,
• Oversees training programmes,
• Monitors training programs and material to ensure that they are effective and up-to-date and makes updates as necessary,
• Manages costs for all programs, productions, and publications,
• Reports to organization executives,
• Works with managers to address learning issues, instruction problems, or new educational needs regarding specific employees or departments,
• Works with UNIC/IFF teams, especially in marketing and sales, to coordinate learner recruitment, ongoing support to   learners, and post-program relationships.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree
• Good working understanding of IFF’s focus areas, especially Blockchain/DLT, digital currency, artificial intelligence and augmented/virtual reality.
• Excellent knowledge of English language.
• A proven track record of training program development and management,
• Knowledge of learning and development best practices ,

Who we are? 
The Institute For the Future (IFF) is a cross-disciplinary research institute at the University of Nicosia (UNIC) in Cyprus, founded in 2018 to explore the hypothesis that technological progress will cause rapidly accelerating societal change over the coming decades. IFF hosts more than 40 faculty, researchers and support staff from UNIC and partner institutions from industry and academia.
