Reporting to the Senior Director for Digital Media Creation and Strategy, the Creative Producer (CP) collaborates with colleagues within the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning, as well as faculty and instructors to develop and manage creative digital media projects. The Creative Producer will guide projects through the entire lifecycle – from concept creation and pre-production to delivery and archiving.

This is a 9-month fixed-term position.
- Build and manage productive relationships with a broad range of people, including faculty, academic staff, program managers, instructional designers, etc. – closely collaborating on creative approaches to meet learning goals with digital media, setting timelines, articulating the production process and expectations, communicating issues, providing status updates, and suggesting appropriate methods for improvement.
- Coordinate the pre-production process: work with faculty and instructors on concept development, scripts, and storyboards; create and communicate project scope and timelines; and manage deliverables within the resources allocated.
- Coordinate the production process: schedule shoots and determine staffing needs to support them; uphold legal compliance standards and procedures; finalize deliverables with the teaching team; and post assets to internal or external media hosting platforms.
- Organize the post-production of content and collaborate with the post-production team: editing videos, adding slides and supplemental content, and encoding video resources to the right specifications.
- Help faculty and instructors understand recording options available to them, and help them learn to record their lectures using the methods most appropriate to their needs.
- Assist teaching team, including TAs, with video production tools and course platforms. Serve as the in-house digital media expert for a school/unit.
- Act as a liaison with contractors and identify competitive pricing for products and services.
- May coordinate other production staff.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
- The ability to manage a variety of creative projects with changing priorities, deadlines, and faculty and staff needs
- Experience working on multiple projects concurrently, including a commitment to meeting timelines and proactively communicating delays or issues
- The ability to think creatively in project conceptualization as well as finding solutions to problems
- Demonstrated experience with concept creation and production process
- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive service-oriented attitude; sensitive to faculty needs and expectations; mature judgment and developed diplomacy skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Strong skills with NLE workflows – Premiere and After Effects preferred
- Knowledge of digital asset management, color correction and audio mixing, and production techniques
- Advanced technical experience using production equipment including field and studio cameras, sound and lighting equipment, camera workflows, video creation and editing software, and encoding best practices and video compression formats
- Strong ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to set-up, breakdown and carry equipment to and from recording studios, classrooms, and other production sites
- Understanding of the online video environment and online distribution; interest in learning new, emerging platforms and tools
- Ability to lead a small team on complex productions – to work independently and effectively in a collaborative team environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or digital media control software.
- Strong knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery and other production formats.
- Broad knowledge of all aspects of professional quality productions, including field and studio camera, lighting, sound and editing,
- Understanding of online video environment and online distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to perform repairs on a wide variety of audio, visual and computer equipment.
- Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
- Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- May require experience planning, coordinating, and executing archival digitization projects.
