Position Description

The Anthropology Department of Harvard University seeks to make a tenure-track appointment (Assistant Professor) in the social anthropology of race and inequality in the United States.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates will be expected to advance the scholarship and teaching of topics related to this area of research, as well as to contribute meaningfully to the intellectual life of the Anthropology Department and the university. In addition to teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students, the successful candidate will be expected to continue to pursue an active agenda of research and publication.

Additional Qualifications

The appointment will begin on July 1, 2019. Candidates are required to have a doctorate in hand at the time of appointment, and a record of research, publications and teaching commensurate with the level of appointment.
