This is an exciting time for Hartpury, as from September 2018 we became both a university and a college on a single campus; this is an amazing achievement in the history of our institution, particularly in our 70th year.

As an institution renowned for excellence in sport, equine, animal and land based curricula, we aim to provide a unique, high quality experience in a focused and supportive environment, challenging our learners in the pursuit of excellence.

As the Head of Department Equine at Hartpury University you will lead and develop the academic team and provision at one of Europe’s largest higher education equine providers. As an academic leader you will enhance the student experience, facilitate research and research-informed teaching as well as advance our national and international reputation. Our expectations are high and we are looking for a highly motivated individual who will work well in team situations and, as an outstanding practitioner, has a strong background in the university / college sector with an excellent understanding of the equine industry.

For an informal discussion on this post please contact Rosie Scott-Ward (Pro Vice Chancellor) via PA Sam Baker on 01452 702356.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team at one of the UK’s leading specialist education providers.  We offer excellent benefits including continuous professional development opportunities, 35 days annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension Scheme, onsite fitness facilities, free onsite parking and lots more.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.  All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring checks along with other relevant employment checks.
