Position Description

The Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health seeks candidates for the position of instructor in the related fields of leadership, negotiation and conflict resolution. The successful candidate will serve as an instructor for two programs: The National Preparedness Leadership Initiative (primary program), and the Program on Health Care Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (secondary program). This is a non-tenure position with the potential of annual renewal, and advancement.

The successful candidate will be expected to serve as an instructor as well as perform research work and assist the team in curriculum development. Courses taught are graduate and executive education level. Topics of instruction include: leadership, crisis leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Research is investigative field work; it is not lab-based. Familiarity with healthcare and/or disaster medicine is expected. The ability to mentor and advise students is required.

Basic Qualifications

Applicants should have an advanced degree, to include a doctoral degree in health policy or management, medicine, law or emergency management. The candidate should also bring related pragmatic experience in the areas of leadership development, crisis leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, emergency management and public health.

Additional Qualifications

M.D. preferred; can be full-time or part-time
