The Stanford Center for Health Education (SCHE) supports a more effective and efficient approach to the training of health professionals at Stanford and around the world while empowering the public through access to credible, accessible, and engaging parallel public health education. In offering content created by faculty in all seven schools at Stanford University and improving on conventional approaches to professional healthcare education, SCHE aims to increase the global availability of well-trained healthcare professionals, create a more informed public, and improve health outcomes in some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. One of the Center’s programs is the Digital Medical Education International Collaborative (digitalmedic.stanford.edu), a growing global initiative based out of the Stanford University School of Medicine. Our vision is to improve global health outcomes by increasing access to medical education and building human capacity. Our mission is to collaborate with organizations across the world to create high quality, accessible, and customized healthcare learning experiences, openly available online to anyone, anywhere, anytime via our global platform.
SCHE is seeking a Program Manager who will develop and lead educational programs in alignment with the Center’s objectives, including the Digital MEdIC initiative. With a focus on business development for global impact, the Program Manager will build and grow educational programs targeted at various learners around the world.
This is a two-year fixed-term position
As Program Manager, SCHE, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of new and existing education offerings created by SCHE. Lead and oversee development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of professional education and healthcare related online programs. Work with Stanford Medicine faculty and departments to envision and execute educational programs that will extend our reach to learners worldwide.
- Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for new educational offerings and research.
- Develop and manage partnerships for our Digital MEdIC program, working to establish high-level relationships with related government, academic, and nonprofit organizations aiming to improve health outcomes through education.
- Oversee analysis, reporting, and program improvements. Oversee the development, adherence to, and implementation of program policies and procedures.
- Lead business development functions for the Center for Health Education, including the evaluation of revenue generating opportunities against program resources, capabilities, and mission.
- Represent the entity or program to the broader university, external community, and other stakeholders. Provide expert consultation related to program development, funding opportunities, or other specialty area.
- Develop outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships and fundraising/funding. Identify external funding opportunities and write proposals and research grants.
- Coach and mentor related program coordination staff.
- Make independent decisions in the best interest of the program, faculty, and SCHE.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.
