The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Associate Professor will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching and research efforts. You will be responsible for providing original, innovative and distinguished contributions to the School's programs for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. You will also make a significant contribution to teaching and learning, with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students. This front-line position will make a significant contribution to the planning and strategic direction of the School, taking on academic leadership roles involving participation in various committees within the university.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will possess a nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets. You will have demonstrated supervision of higher degree by research candidates, as well as skills in leading scholarly development and managing academic teams to deliver high quality outcomes. Your ability to direct an award program/s and implement improvements, as well as your ability to devise innovative approaches to student-centred learning, will be essential to your success in this role. Furthermore, you will have high levels of interpersonal and communication skills to effectively consult with senior executives & external bodies to negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
