The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) is Australia’s independent national quality assurance and regulatory agency for higher education. TEQSA’s role is to ensure that quality standards are being met by all higher education providers so that the interests of students and reputation of Australia’s higher education sector are promoted and protected. All providers of higher education - universities, independent providers and TAFEs – that offer higher education qualifications in or from Australia, must be registered with TEQSA.

TEQSA is seeking an outstanding individual to be their new Executive Director, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Operations reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Anthony McClaran. This person will lead the Assessment and Investigations, and Assurance groups and will be responsible for delivering TEQSA’s core business of undertaking quality assurance and regulatory assessments. Assessment staff prepare cases for consideration by the relevant TEQSA decision-makers, including the TEQSA Commission. The groups have responsibility for the active case management of assessments from registered higher education providers and from those seeking registration.

The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated strong leadership qualities and the ability to drive efficiency and effectiveness in an operational environment. In addition, he or she will need excellent people management skills and the ability to promote continual cultural change.
