At TU Dresden, Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry, the Chair of Electrochemistry offers a position as 

Research Associate/ PhD Student  
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting at 01.04.2019. The position entails 65 % of the fulltime weekly hours and is limited for 3 years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed-Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz- WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).

Tasks: In the framework of a DFG project and in cooperation with the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin biomimetic molecular catalysts shall be immobilized on electrodes and tested in respect to their applicability for electrocatalytic oxygen and carbon dioxide reduction. The focus of the work at TU Dresden lies in the attachment of the molecules to specifically functionalized electrodes and their mechanistic investigation using electrochemical techniques in combination with in situ Raman spectroscopy. 

Requirements: university degree (M.Sc., Dipl.) in Chemistry, Physics or related fields; Interest in Physical Chemistry; Knowledge of Electrochemistry as well as Raman Spectroscopy.
