These Fellowships seek to recruit outstanding early-career postdoctoral scientists who are looking to make a 'step change' in their research through developing new skills in computation, mathematics, statistics, or physics, for application to medical research. The Fellowships will allow researchers to enhance existing skills sets and importantly gain skills in new areas that are essential for their research programme. We are particularly keen to attract researchers to King's from the quantitative backgrounds who wish to apply their skills to medical research.

The prestigious Fellowships will give Early Career Researchers protected time to undertake intensive training in their chosen area, alongside their research project. The Fellowships includes salary plus research and training costs for 3 years. Awards may be held in any part of the university but must be focused on one of the following Research Themes: (A) Genetics & Genomics, (B) Clinical & Health Informatics, (c) Medical Imaging & Computational Modelling and must involve training in a Skills Area of (1) Statistics, (2) Informatics, (3) Machine Learning and Predictive Modelling or (4) Mixed Methods & Health Economics.

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, Salary £37,412 - £42,832 per annum including London allowance, depending on experience.

Clinical applicants will be appointed to the Clinical Research Fellow Scale (points 11-15; £37,957 - £45,409), depending on experience.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years.

Full time or Part time position available (36 months pro-rata).

This scheme involves a two-stage application, allowing shortlisted applicants from Stage 1 time to work with their academic sponsors to develop a research proposal that fits with the research themes of the Programme and skills training areas important to the candidate. Those shortlisted at Stage 1 will be invited to apply to Stage 2.The selection process will also include a panel interview.
