SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT, GLOBAL OPERATIONS, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Controllership, to support accounting transactions and financial reporting for MIT’s international activities. Will maintain and improve accounting and reporting processes for international affiliations; review and manage financial data using SAP and other financial reporting tools; collaborate and coordinate with partners within VPF and throughout MIT to support the global financial needs of the community; and support the Global Financial and Accounting Operations manager and work to provide business, financial, and operational expertise and analysis and provide support to VPF and Institute leadership. Responsibilities include driving accounting and financial reporting for MIT international entities and collaborations; preparing and present financial reports and compliance documentation; researching and responding to information requests; collaborating with other VPF teams to produce financial reports and compliance documentation; identifying and coordinating improvements/automation efficiencies; documenting financial and operational policies/procedures, technical advice, opinions, and memoranda; and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; at least three years’ accounting experience and least one in financial operations; interest in global business operations; comfort with accounting information systems and report writing tools; strong customer service focus; self-motivation; ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative environment; strong analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to build consensus across teams and anticipate outcomes in order to drive processes forward; and proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Higher education or nonprofit accounting experience preferred, especially for organizations with overseas portfolios or subsidiaries. SAP and Brio Query experience and familiarity with MIT financial, administrative, and operational policies/procedures also preferred. Job #16965-O
