About the team
The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at The University of Western Australia is comprised of five Schools: Schools of Biomedical Sciences, Allied Health, Population and Global Health, Dental School and Medical School. The School within which this position will be located will be determined by the attributes of the appointee and their research programme.
This position, in the field of breast cancer, offers unrivalled opportunity to undertake high quality research in any area of breast cancer research in an outstanding academic environment. The Faculty has many areas of pursuit in breast cancer, including discovery, prevention, imaging, management and clinical trials. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a programme of research and collaborate with others working in breast cancer. This is a non-clinical post.
The Faculty’s research facilities include modern, well-equipped laboratories, shared equipment resources and core services. This is supported by centralised cutting-edge major infrastructure, analytical resources and animal facilities within the University and affiliated research institutes. The Faculty also has active teaching programmes in cancer to which the appointee would be expected to contribute.
About the opportunity
As a Senior Lecturer in Breast Cancer, you will undertake teaching and independent research in the field of breast cancer. You will make an independent contribution and co-ordinate and/or lead the activities of other staff as appropriate. You will contribute to undergraduate postgraduate coursework teaching, and specifically the Oncobiology programmes, as well as at honours and postgraduate level.
You must hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant area and postgraduate experience in the field of oncology and translational cancer pathology. You will demonstrate excellence and independent research in breast cancer research, including grants and publications. You will also have a proven record of high quality teaching at an undergraduate level and have recent experience in postgraduate supervision.
