Grade 7/8 - £34,189 to £50,132 dependent on experience

Join our passionate and driven academic team - designing and delivering transformative, innovative and inspirational learning experiences that prepare students for a career in food and nutrition.

We successfully deliver a renowned portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with new ones being launched in 2019. Our courses are mapped against the relevant professional bodies' frameworks and we have a strong working relationship with the Association for Nutrition, having run accredited courses for many years.

We take pride in our outstanding national student survey (NSS) scores and excellent student experience, achieved by placing the student at the centre of our curriculum design as well as by maintaining a fantastic extra-curricular food and nutrition profile. We nurture strong partnerships with employers and are keen to continue establishing rich connections locally, nationally and internationally for the benefit of our students.

Our innovative and applied research enriches the quality of our education, spanning a wide range of disciplines with a focus on improving health.

We are looking for two nutritionists registered with the Association for Nutrition (or eligible to register). You should be able to teach two (or more) of the following:

  • Nutrition for sport and exercise.
  • Nutritional physiology and metabolism
  • Weight management/ obesity.
  • Public health promotion, wellbeing and wellness services.
  • Nutrition, more broadly.

In addition to contemporary knowledge in nutrition, gained through research and/ or working in the sector, you will have either:

  • a doctoral qualification, ideally along with a track record of scholarly output including peer-reviewed publications and/ or funding acquisition; or,
  • a relevant postgraduate degree, ideally along with experience of undertaking consultancy work or making direct contributions to health or nutrition policy/ strategy at a local, national or international level.

Although higher education teaching experience would be an advantage, it isn't essential.

We particularly welcome black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) and male applicants who are underrepresented in this area

For non-EU applicants, we are unlikely to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job (unless you are switching from a UK student visa), so you should only apply if you already have unrestricted permission to work in the UK.

Follow @sheffhallamjobs on Twitter for job alerts and information about what makes this a great place to work.

We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements
