SENIOR SUPERVISOR FOR CUSTODIAL SERVICES, Facilities-Custodial Services, to provide direction and support to all Custodial Services’ supervisors. Will assist custodial supervisors with identifying and implementing continual improvement practices and ensure quality and service standards are met on a consistent basis; coordinate and conduct training for employees; motivate and provide corrective action to employees as appropriate; conduct regular and frequent quality assurance inspections; assist with budget development, maintenance, event cleaning, and set ups; report on labor and custodial supply issues; coordinate, respond to, and evaluate emergencies such as flood, fire, chemical spills, etc.; maintain and analyze data related to custodial operations and customer service; implement and assess the Institute recycling program; directly supervise a team of custodians in assigned buildings; and implement and follow through on all Custodial Services’ directives, with direction from the manager or assistant manager. Will also--with input from the custodial supervisors--be responsible for mediating labor relations issues on the evening shift and report all labor relations issues to the manager and assistant manager.
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years’ experience in custodial management, preferably in a union environment; comprehensive knowledge of custodial products and procedures; working knowledge of recycling practices; knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, and email programs; and ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
MIT Custodial Services is a 24/7 department. Must be available to work any shift and for emergency response 24/7.
The regular schedule will be Monday through Friday, 3:00 P.M. to midnight, but can be adjusted due to operational needs.
