The University of Chicago's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The successful applicant will provide comprehensive ophthalmology care, including cataract surgery. This may include offsite locations. Supervision of resident cataract surgery is an integral part of this position. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. We especially welcome applicants that have experience with teaching resident cataract surgery, and the ability to begin employment on or before September 1, 2019, are preferred.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in ophthalmology, 4) have completed an ACGME-approved ophthalmology residency or its equivalent, and 5) have completed an anterior segment or glaucoma fellowship or demonstrate comparable clinical experience in comprehensive ophthalmology.
