The Engagement Portfolio includes the Alumni and Philanthropy, Activator and Industry Engagement (IE) teams. Ensuring industry is embedded in everything we do is the cornerstone of RMIT's strategy. The Industry Engagement team leads the university in striving towards the strategic goals of creating both better outcomes for RMIT and industry, and a step change in industry's connection to education. The Alumni and Philanthropy team build the community of advocates for RMIT who champion the University's vision both locally and globally. The team is responsible for leading alumni engagement, fundraising and donor stewardship.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Team Leader, Business Relationship is responsible for managing all IE Business Relationship specialists within the IE Business Relationship team as well as delivering the industry engagement needs for the assigned portfolio of 2-3 Schools. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing the pipeline of industry partners and engaging them in activities relevant to the Schools' industry engagement targets. You will play a key role in promoting the industry engagement programs among RMIT students, staff, alumni and other external stakeholders. The Team Leader will be also accountable for team's success by providing ongoing support to staff to meet targets, implementing development programs and assessing performance of all team members.
Skills & Experience Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and motivate a business development team to source and convert clients to engage in learning and teaching and research activities. You will provide customer service to the best possible standards and achieve high targets in a fast-paced environment. You will coordinate projects through all the stages; from planning, communication, process development to implementation and reporting.
You will also be responsible for managing sales pipeline and setting targets to support the grow of industry engagement opportunities. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, work with minimum to no supervision and strong time and management skills will be part of this role. Strong stakeholder management and business development skills are required. Candidates who have lead teams in a recruitment or business development background are strongly encouraged to apply.
