The City University of Macau is now inviting applications for the following positions:

-    Senior Lecturer in Social Work

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Science (FHSS) offers various programmes with distinctive characteristics and strengths, consists of applied psychology, cultural industry management, social work and social sciences, covering Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels. In addition, there are pre-university and general education courses to provide an all-round education for undergraduates and promote the comprehensive development of students' intellect.

Job Description
Candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the faculty program development. Successful candidates will be responsible in duties included: (i) teaching; (ii) supervision and coordination of student’s fieldwork in social service organizations; and (iii) facilitate research activity and exchange relevant to the program.

Job Qualifications

  • Candidates should at least a Master degree holder in social work or in related field;
  • Have at least  5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: social service management, mental health, gerontology, rehabilitation, medical social work, and community development;
  • 2 years of prior tertiary teaching experience in college/university is desirable;
  • Experience in collaborating with the international community is preferable, or
  • Professional experience in working at social service organizations in Macau;
  • Good command either in English or Chinese language is required. 

Remuneration
The remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualifications, current position and professional experience. The compensation/benefits are competitive. Currently, the highest marginal personal tax rate in Macao is 12%. But the effective tax rate is around 5% to 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
