Role Description

Organisational Behaviour & Organisational Psychology

The School of Management has long been recognised as a leading centre of excellence for Organisational Behaviour and Organisational Psychology teaching, scholarship, research and learning.  It has never been out of the FT ranking of the “top of their class” (Top 10 in the world for OB).

Due to significant expansion in demand we now wish to appoint two people to the group. One role exists for a Lecturer (L) and one at Senior Lecturer (SL) level.

It is anticipated that one role will focus more on education (including executive education) and the second post will be more research focused, but we are happy to negotiate this. As a wholly postgraduate institution which is aligned to business, it is important that applicants have professional credibility.

We have ambitious plans for the group including new cross campus masters programs and the creation of doctoral pathways in Organisational Psychology for those already at chartered level. We believe psychological understanding and application in work life is critical and expect candidates appointed to share our enthusiasm.

The candidate would be expected to contribute to teaching and supervision on Masters and MBA programme as well as modules across other postgraduate programmes. You would be mentored and supported in this role.

Reporting to Professor in Organisational Psychology (appointment in January) you will have a postgraduate in a relevant discipline (masters or doctorate or be close to submission). For the Lecturer post, you may have one or more papers in revision. For the Senior Lecturer post, you may have a developing publications pipeline, teaching experience, and preferably some programme or executive course leadership experience. Cranfield values industrial experience and therefore any practical experience of professional work in organizations would be welcomed.

We are very keen that professional development takes place and would therefore encourage those appointed in working to work towards Chartered status, HCPC professional recognition, P/G qualifications in Teaching in HE, Fellowship of the HEA, or doctoral work (toward PhD or DBA) as applicable, for their own development.

Because Cranfield is keen that faculty stay close to business 30 days each year are available for independent / private work.

For an informal discussion and further details about the position, please contact Dr Richard Kwiatkowski, Senior Lecturer Organisational Psychology (Professorial appointment pending). E: richard.kwiatkowski@cranfield.ac.uk

At Cranfield, we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role.
