The successful appointee will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the research projects, liaising with industry partners and performing high quality research. The successful appointee will work on an industry-funded project related to the development of new polymer composite products for the Oil and Gas industry. The successful appointee will also work with group members on business development activities, supporting WHS activities and take on supervision and mentoring duties.
The successful appointee will have access to state of the art research facilities in the Centre for Advanced Materials Processing and Manufacturing and a motivated team peers.
There are opportunities to work across a broad range of topics many of which have industry and research partners.
Applicants should possess a PhD in / qualifications in relevant discipline/s and working rights for Australia. Demonstrated competency in thermoplastic polymer composite processing and materials testing with particular competence in composite compounding, injection moulding and extrusion is essential. Experience in industry focused research, knowledge of the coal seam gas industry and competence in product development and innovation are highly regarded.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A or B.
For appointments at Academic Level A, the remuneration package will be in the range $83,295 - $89,285 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $97,455 - $104,463 p.a.).
For appointments at Academic Level B, the remuneration package will be in the range $93,985 - $111,607 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $109,962 - $130,580 p.a.).
