The Creative Industries Faculty (CIF) is the world’s first faculty of its kind. CIF is a leader in research excellence and offers a range of academic study programs from non-award courses through to post-graduate programs and research doctorates. CIF is externally focused, and undertakes research that is transdisciplinary, high-impact and draws upon the deep technological capabilities within the Faculty and beyond. Due to expansion and promotion QUT is seeking a new Head, School of Communication to strengthen and deepen the School’s and Faculty’s capabilities and successes.
The School encompasses the core discipline areas of Digital Media, Media & Entertainment, Journalism and Professional Communication. As Head of School, you will provide leadership to staff within the School, while contributing at Faculty leadership level. The School has an excellent track record in transdisciplinary research, and with new curriculum commencing across undergraduate and Masters’ courses in 2019 there is a great foundation on which to build further success.
The School includes the Digital Media Research Centre, a world leader in research for a creative, inclusive and fair digital media environment. You will support staff involved in research and teaching activities, drive a culture of innovation and excellence to maximise the potential for increased engagement with industry. You will lead further development of curriculum and joint course offerings, in collaboration with relevant Schools and Faculties, and be a future-focused leader.
