An opportunity has arisen for a Systems Accountant to provide professional and strategic support within the Financial Services systems team. They will be required to manage, maintain and develop the reporting areas of the system, including in-depth use of SQL and external report-writing facilities within the Report Engine suite.
The successful applicant will have experience of developing and implementing finance systems, preferably Agresso/Unit4 Business World. They will be experienced in delivering user support, possibly in a system administration capacity to users across a large diverse organisation. They will have extensive knowledge of financial system modules, ideally gained within a HEI environment.
The successful applicant will have a degree/HND in relevant discipline or equivalent experiential learning and ideally be a qualified accountant. They will hold strong technical accounting skills and have knowledge of accounting standards. Working collaboratively with other finance professionals, they will lead on the development of systems based reporting formats to meet both internal and external requirements.
An excellent communicator, able to deliver information using a variety of methods, they will effectively engage the wider organisation and promote a culture of realistic and evidence-based forecasting of income and expenditure. Working to tight deadlines, using initiative to prioritise particularly at month and year-end along with having meticulous attention to detail is essential for this role.
