Muscat University has established a strong reputation locally for quality provision with state-of-the-art facilities and a high-quality student experience.  The University has recently developed its 5-year strategic plan 2018-2023 and is confident in its ability to deliver its ambitious plans for its future. The University is looking for a new Deputy Vice Chancellor who will be responsible for the Student Journey to provide strategic leadership for the whole of the student life-cycle.  Working closely with colleagues on the senior team and across the institution, the appointee will further enhance the experience provided by the University, and realise the University‚Äôs commitment to a student centric approach to all our activities.

The appointee will lead on relevant areas through the whole of the student journey from the very first marketing and student recruitment efforts to engaging the students when they become alumni and ambassadors for the University.   They will line manage key roles across the University including Marketing, Student Recruitment, Registry and Student Admissions Directorates.  Ideal candidates will be proven deliverers of change, with excellent team working skills and an action orientated approach to achieving success. We are looking for candidates with ambition and commitment to student success who are already experienced leaders, able to provide evidence of working collaboratively with colleagues across an institution. An inspirational, visionary perspective of the student life-cycle with a passion for student engagement will be critical.

The Role:

The role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor - Student Journey oversees the full student life cycle at Muscat University. It is a full member of the senior leadership team and reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor. The role is new following a restructuring to support and achieve the ambitious 5-year strategic plan developed by the University.  The current context of Higher Education in Oman and in the region is extremely competitive and a focus on developing a student centric approach in all University activities is becoming more critical.  Thus, the University has developed this role, the first of its kind in Oman, to ensure a strategic approach to handling the entire student life cycle that builds on its strengths and positions it as a leader in the sector.
