Applications are invited for the post of Governance Assistant in the Directorate of Governance and Legal Services which comprises the College Secretariat, Legal, Internal Audit and Health & Safety.
The Governance Assistant will sit within the Secretariat, Legal and Internal Audit team. The team is responsible for providing legal, governance, regulatory and compliance advice to the College. Importantly, the team manages the business of the College’s governing body and its various committees, providing the Chair of Council and Vice-Chair with high level support and guidance in governance matters. The role-holder will primarily work alongside the members of the Secretariat and provide assistance with all aspects of the department’s responsibilities.
This post presents an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and professional individual interested in governance, legal and compliance administration within a university setting.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work calmly under pressure, both as an individual and as part of a team. Proficiency in a variety of IT packages, including MS Office, and excellent attention to detail are essential, as is a flexibility and positive can-do attitude. Previous experience of working within Higher Education will be particularly welcome.
This is a full-time permanent post which is available with immediate effect, or as soon as possible thereafter.
