The Engagement Portfolio includes the Alumni and Philanthropy, Activator and Industry Engagement teams. Ensuring industry is embedded in everything we do is the cornerstone of RMIT's strategy. The Industry Engagement team leads the university in striving towards the strategic goals of creating both better outcomes for RMIT and industry, and a step change in industry's connection to education. The Alumni and Philanthropy team build the community of advocates for RMIT who champion the University's vision both locally and globally. The team is responsible for leading alumni engagement, fundraising and donor stewardship.

The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Alumni Engagement is a key member of the RMIT Alumni and Philanthropy leadership team. The role is responsible for leading and driving alumni engagement and overseeing delivery of alumni activity enterprise-wide. This includes implementing the University's alumni strategy across all global entities, serving as the practise leader in alumni engagement for RMIT, coordinating policy and core procedures to enable best practise, and leading the evolution of RMIT's approach to engagement to lift alumni affinity and create a stand out program among peer institutions. Critical to the role is the ability to harnessing digital technology platforms, both internally and via external sources, to deliver alumni engagement more effectively.

Skills & Experience Required

Working with the Director, you will implement and report on the University's alumni strategy and ensure it aligns to the RMIT strategy globally and maximise the use of digital technology in shaping and enhancing RMIT alumni experiences and lifting their connection to and affinity for RMIT. Important to this role will be your capacity to successfully lead and manage a team as well as work across cultures, particularly with those in the Asian region. Your strong relationship building skills will see you develop and manage relationships with RMIT staff enterprise-wide to lift engagement opportunities for alumni and improve the alumni experience.


A tertiary qualification and/or equivalent combination of tertiary and industry training in marketing, communications, digital strategy, public relations, management, business or other relevant discipline.
