The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) (www.nri.org) is an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary centre of the University of Greenwich that undertakes research, consultancy, teaching and training to support food and nutrition security, sustainable development, economic growth and poverty reduction mainly in developing countries.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the Institute in the role of Communications Officer.

This is an exciting new role combining a broad range of communications activities, from social media to video, photography, design, writing and more. We’re looking for an experienced Communications professional who has an interest in using their skills and knowledge of cutting-edge media and communications tools and platforms to share NRI’s messages and mission with a range of audiences.

The successful candidate will carry out communications tasks for major NRI projects, working with scientists, farmers, funders and other partners across the world. You will support NRI staff and project teams to better communicate our impact and improve the flow of internal communication.

Experience in a similar role producing a range of media and communications products is essential, as is a ‘can-do’ attitude and hands-on approach. You’ll have exceptional writing and communication skills and attention to detail. Join our vibrant and dynamic team and share your creative ideas to accomplish our mission and develop your career.

Interested candidates are encouraged to discuss the post with Professor Andrew Westby, Director of the Natural Resources Institute (a.westby@gre.ac.uk).

The position is for a fixed term 3 years, which may be extended based on the availability of external funding.

You will be based at the Medway Campus.
