The Vice-President Academic and Provost is the chief academic officer of the University and a key member of the senior leadership team. Responsible for the planning, development, administration, and integrity of the Mount’s academic and research affairs, the Vice-President Academic and Provost plays a major role in the fulfilment of the University’s vision, mission, and values and the achievement of its goals. The Vice-President Academic and Provost works across the Mount in support of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and serves as a spokesperson for its strengths and achievements with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a respected educator, researcher, and academic leader who has a demonstrated ability to advance and transform university academic goals, programs, and priorities. Committed to building collegial relationships with students, faculty, staff, and promoting the University with the external community, the Vice-President Academic and Provost will possess an open and collegial style, outstanding management, communication, and interpersonal skills, a creative approach to problem solving, and the ability to inspire. The Vice-President Academic and Provost will be a strategic thinker and skilled communicator who will facilitate and enhance the academic and research endeavours of the Mount through sustaining positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including University Senate, the Board of Governors, and the President.
