Job description

We are seeking high quality candidates to support development of the research generated impact and in particular support the school of engineering research impact submission for the REF2021.   

The post-holder will work closely with Prof Bogdan Matuszewski supporting development of impact plans and impact case studies related to research in computer vision, medical image processing and machine learning.  The post-holder will be responsible for a wide range of research activities directly leading to the impact generation and development.

This will include: software maintenance and deployment based on the research conducted at the Computer Vision and Machine Learning (CVML) research group, engaging with partners and stakeholders to promote CVML research and facilitate research impact, ensuring that evidence of research impact is captured and regularly updated on the university's research-impact evidence database.    

The successful candidate for this post will have Engineering or Computing undergraduate degree (or a similar subject) and a PhD, in areas of computer vision, image processing or machine learning.   Candidates will have prior experience of working at academia and industry, as well as research track record in computer vision, medical image processing and/or machine learning.  

The successful candidate will display the potential to engage in internationally competitive academic research and knowledge transfer and support clients who are partners of the UCLan's Engineering Innovation Centre. They will have the willingness and ability to travel within the UK and overseas to support collaborative research activities, research impact generation and capture.  

The successful candidate will have excellent computer programming and team working skills.   Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview.

This position is based in Preston.
