The role

In this role you will be responsible to undertake research, teach and publish in the area of software engineering. You will be developing new units and curriculum and there would be a high component of research involved as well.

This is a full time ongoing role with occasional travel between the campuses.

This role may require you to travel internationally to deliver teaching at our international partnership institutions.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD in Software Engineering or a relevant field; expertise in Artifical Intelligence or Robotics would be highly advantageous
  • extensive experience as a productive member of a research team
  • a track record of publications in highly ranked international academic journals, relative to opportunity
  • a record of excellent achievement in teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and the public, orally and in writing
  • a good team player with willingness to engage at different levels

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • make a significant contribution to the moderation and maintenance of academic standards, and the development of course and unit curriculum that exemplifies Deakin’s curriculum framework, and meets external requirements such as the Higher Education Standards Framework and professional accreditation
  • make a significant contribution to research projects, including internal and external collaboration to create new insights and opportunities
  • make a significant contribution to successful development of research programs or partnerships
  • design and implement best practice assessment and evidence of student learning outcomes at Unit and Course level, and leading assessment panels
  • research and publish in learning and teaching, including testing the effectiveness of innovations designed to improve student and graduate outcomes including graduate employment
