The School of Pharmacy

The School of Pharmacy is one of the largest Schools of this type in Australia with over 50 academic staff (including joint appointments with the community, hospital and government pharmacies) who are widely published internationally and have extensive research backgrounds. A team of 25 administrative, scientific and IT staff provide operational support and, over 50 people are employed through the School on research grants and other contracts. The School is located in new, purpose built facilities in Brisbane’s PACE (Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence) precinct adjacent to hospital, research and industry partners.

The role

We are seeking a motivated individual with strong industry contacts to investigate opportunities for the School of Pharmacy in the areas of teaching and industry engagement, while also undertaking a level of direct teaching and engagement with current and former students. This position will also be required to develop and maintain a profile in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

The person

The candidate will hold a Bachelor and/or Master of Pharmacy, and have deep experience in the pharmaceutical industry, both in Australia, and abroad. An understanding of the market potential for, and practicalities of, the introduction of new Masters program in the current environment is essential, as is a willingness to work concurrently across a range of projects and activities.


This is a 0.4 FTE part time, fixed term appointment until 31 December, 2019, at Research Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $93,985.59 - $111,607.58 p.a. FTE, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $109,963.14 - $130,580.86 p.a. FTE).
