Working at the University of Canberra, which is among the top 100 universities in the world under the age of 50, and as part of the Faculty of Science and Technology you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the relevant units in the laboratories. Working as part of the team you will support the Faculty’s teaching and research requirements to meet the rapidly changing demands of the job market/industry in the areas of robotics, mechatronics, electronics/computer engineering, testing, software engineering, systems integration, design and fabrication of electronic circuits, components and devices.
Operating under the guidance of Technical Services Manager, you will be expected to support the research and teaching activities in the engineering laboratories, including but not limited to the design and fabrication of electronic circuits, components and devices, and optimising, debugging and testing electronic and mechatronic systems. You will also support the material requirements of undergraduate laboratory classes and the research, entrepreneurial, and commercialisation activities of academic staff.
To be successful in this role you will hold the qualification(s) in these arenas and/or an equivalent combination of relevant industry experience and/or education and training, with previous experience in two or more of the following: robotics, mechatronics, electronics/computer engineering, testing, systems integration, design and fabrication. You should also have experience in industrial projects or entrepreneurial activities and have knowledge of ROS, Python, with the ability to run laboratory demonstration classes.
