This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a key role in ensuring the Faculty of Science and Engineering operates a safe environment for staff, students and visitors, whilst also ensuring the Faculty maintains compliance with other regulatory requirements, such as General Data Protection Regulations. You will report to the Head of Planning, Compliance and Special Projects. You will be required to work closely with senior management, staff, students and those with specific compliance responsibilities, both within and outside of the Faculty.

As Faculty Safety, Compliance and Risk Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational support and professional advice on compliance and risk matters within the Faculty. You will be required to embed a culture of risk management across the Faculty, ensuring appropriate management systems are in place and working effectively.

You will have an ability to think in strategic terms and a willingness to exercise leadership; an ability to communicate with all levels of staff, and the ability to engage and influence colleagues.

You will have significant experience of managing health and safety, together with a knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Faculty operates.

You will be educated to degree level in a science or engineering discipline and possess, or be working towards, a NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent.
