Coursework Hand-In Room Assistant

Location: Medway campus
Salary: £8.70 per hour
Part Time Hours: Rota of one shift per week, either 8.30-12.30 or 12.15-4.15 Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Fixed Term - Initial period up to 31st October 2019 when Job Shop contracts renew, then with an option to renew for a further year depending on visa and studies situation

The Faculty of Engineering and Science would like to recruit two dynamic and motivational students (PhD, MSc) from Engineering, NRI, Pharmacy or Science to join the team of Coursework Hand-In Room Assistants at the Medway campus.
The role of the Coursework Hand-In Room Assistant is to receipt coursework, sort the coursework into boxes, close boxes and pack coursework ready for transporting to the Schools in the Faculty of Engineering and Science as quickly as possible following each deadline date.
The successful applicants must be flexible to ensure they can, where necessary, work additional shifts during busy assessment hand in days or cover other team members’ shifts at short notice. In addition, they should possess and have experience of excellent customer service skills and be assertive and confident when dealing with students and academic staff in the Faculty. Equally, it is important that the successful applicant is able to travel to the Medway campus.
The Coursework Hand-In Room is open Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 4.00 pm during term time and 12.00 pm – 2.00 pm at other times (closed Bank Holidays). The Coursework Hand-In Room team work on a rota basis, e.g. 8.30 am – 12.30 pm or 12.15 pm – 4.15 pm.
During busy weeks of the year, two people will be on duty during each shift and in the quieter weeks, one person will cover each shift.
