The Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing has a vacancy for a Senior Administrator based in the Faculty Enterprise and Commercial Team. You will be part of a small team responsible for providing professional administrative services to support a variety of activities within the enterprise and commercial work-stream of the Faculty.
You will provide a point of contact and support for academic staff and external commercial and industrial partners on enterprise and commercial related enquiries. Working with colleagues, you will undertake a wide variety of operational financial administration activities to support enterprise and commercial activities and/or projects to maintain effective contract and purchasing control and reporting requirements. You will be responsible for drafting proposals and costing models, including providing support with and undertaking commercial negotiations as required/appropriate. You will also be required to oversee,maintain and manage CPD bookings and associated CPD required systems and processes, including booking of facilities, parking, hotels, refreshments, etc.and liaising with clients, the delivery team and resource providers to ensure that events create a professional and efficiently organised impression for clients. You will also manage a shared inbox, book travel, service committees and meetings and manage diaries. In addition you will have the opportunity to get involved in and support enterprise and commercial events and projects.
You should be educated to A Level or equivalent with GCSE's(or equivalent) in Maths and English grade C. You will be able to demonstrate experience gained through working in a commercial and/or higher education environment. Significant experience of using Microsoft Office and a variety of software packages and computerised management information systems are essential. You will be able to demonstrate substantial experience of and competence in using MS Excel. You will have experience of managing projects and comfortable with preparing written reports, undertaking data analyses and presentations and sourcing and presenting information.
You should be a strong team player and have excellent customer care, written and oral communication skills. You will be comfortable working under pressure, prioritising work and co-ordinating and managing complex activities to meet competing deadlines. Attention to detail and the ability to use your own initiative are essential.
