This is a key post that will contribute to the ambitions of the University's new Strategic Plan 2017/18 - 2022/23. To prepare and present foodstuffs within the costs specified and to the standard of quality aimed at meeting customer expectations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- To assist in the control and provision of food items to the refectory and hospitality requirements at all times, including menu awareness, food ordering and control and compliance with all due diligence procedures.
- To assist in the receipt and recording of goods and supplies; effective storage and rotation of stock within food safety and institution guidelines, including weekly and monthly stock checks, its utilisation and correct stock rotation to prevent wastage or over production.
- To support the catering manager in the requisition of food so orders can be placed through the data control assistant. This includes all hospitality and specialised theme menus and events.
- To prepare and present foodstuffs within the costs specified and to the standard of quality aimed at meeting customer expectations.
