A new opportunity for an experienced individual to support and maintain our VLE has become available. You will need to be able to adapt to a constantly changing environment to support applications within the Student Systems team. The purpose of this role is to support and maintain the Blackboard application and its service function for The University of Manchester.
This role will involve working with various departments throughout the University including the eLearning teams, the exams office, teaching and learning support office and the wider IT team including key stakeholders.
You should have knowledge of teaching and learning applications such as Blackboard and Turnitin. This role will support these applications in key activities for BAU, 3rd party vendor management, application upgrades and application configuration. You will also need to have excellent communication skills, experience of business analysis and reporting to a wide range of key stakeholders.
Specific role requirements
In addition to the Person Specification criteria you must have the following:
Experience with supporting and configuring VLEs, i.e. Blackboard
An understanding of application lifecycle management
Working in a customer focused, service driven IT environment
Experience of dealing with 3rd party vendors and supplier management
Desirable Knowledge / Experience include:
HE experience with teaching and learning
Knowledge of the working structures of the University and the interoperability of student systems in use
Project Management experience
Knowledge of software deployment and testing processes
