The School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland is inviting applications for the position of a Project Officer - Diversity and Inclusion Engagement.

The University of the West of Scotland is a leading edge modern University driving an ambitious strategy for high quality teaching and research with a global engagement agenda to reflect the needs of the 21st century workplace.  The School of Computing, Engineering & Physical Sciences was established in 2018 to develop new opportunities of collaboration between strong subject areas.

The successful candidate will lead the development of industry and external engagement with the theme of Diversity and Inclusion.

The post holder will manage activities, events and play a lead role in developing links with industry, academia, public sector and research and innovation centres.  The role will also include formulating an Inclusion Leaders’ Group bringing together professional bodies, diversity and inclusion experts, industry and partners in external organisations with the support of internal colleagues across all schools.

Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you will have knowledge of managing relevant projects, nurturing partnerships and have a strong understanding of the Diversity and Inclusion issues in computing, engineering and physical sciences within different sectors.  The ideal candidate will be confident, positive, and be able to successfully collaborate and demonstrate a determination to succeed.

The successful candidate will be based at our Paisley Campus with scheduled activities at our other campus locations and national partners.  We are close to Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, with its rich heritage and vibrant cultural life, and just minutes from the International airport.

The post is full time and fixed term for 6 months but a part-time option could be considered over a longer period.  The post is available from January 2019 with start date of 7th January 2019.
