UQ Protein Expression Facility
The UQ Protein Expression Facility (PEF) is a Central Research Platform at UQ operating within the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research (ODVCR). It provides research capabilities to academic and industry researchers through extensive research services in recombinant protein production.
With a team of highly skilled research specialists, UQ PEF offers comprehensive protein production services using Escherichia coli, yeast, baculovirus-insect, mammalian and cell-free expression platforms to tailor for protein-specific uniqueness. Its robust and flexible production platform supports molecular engineering, multi-hosts expression, protein purification and characterisation. The successful appointee will provide operations management of the Facility to ensure the highest level of efficiency in the provision of research services in recombinant protein production for academia and industry research. You will develop strategies to ensure long-term operational relevance and excellence.
Applicants should possess a PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. You will have extensive knowledge and skill in recombinant protein production and well-versed in bioprocess development and protein analytics for protein-based products. Your demonstrated ability in complex research project management and proven ability in leading and motivating a team make you an ideal candidate for this role.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 years at HEW Level 8. The remuneration package will be in the range $94,667 - $106,299 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%. Total package will be in the range $110,760 – $124,370 p.a.).
