About LIAF and the ARC MedAg Hub

The ARC Medicinal Agriculture Industrial Transformational Research Hub (the ARC MedAg Hub) is the first of a number of major initiatives arising from the La Trobe Institute for Agriculture and Food (LIAF) that support La Trobe University’s (La Trobe’s) world-class research and research training in agriculture and food (agri-food) and medicinal agriculture.

About the role

An opportunity exists for an entrepreneurial and inspiring executive to form part of a senior leadership group reporting to the Executive Director, LIAF and the ARC MedAg Hub. You will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the ARC MedAg Hub’s mission and vision and will provide both operational and strategic direction. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all stakeholder relationships within the Hub including those with professional staff, industry partners, State and Federal Governments & relevant community relationships. You will also be responsible for scoping new opportunities for the ARC MedAg Hub and LIAF.

The Senior Director will provide strategic leadership to LIAF and the ARC MedAg Hub and continue to build upon its significant achievements and established reputation in research excellence, research training and innovation.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be a key member of the senior management team of LIAF and the ARC MedAg Hub that provides advice on a range of matters relating to the ARC MedAg Hub and LIAF resources, performance and administration.

The appointee’s leadership will stimulate further growth and efficiencies in the delivery of an integrated and seamless network of operational and business services, which support the ARC MedAg Hub and LIAF activities within the context of the University’s strategic and operational goals.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should bring an outstanding record of demonstrated expertise in the development and pursuit of challenging goals and directing resources to deliver successful outcomes, a breadth of strategic vision, the ability to sustain collaborative relationships across the University and develop partnerships with diverse groups and individuals, including Government, Industry and Community.
