The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is one of the world’s leading educational research organisations focused on creating and promoting research-based knowledge, products and services that can be used to Improve Learning across the life span.
ACER is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Director for services provided within ACER's Vocational, Adult and Workplace Education Services (VAWE) team. This Unit is responsible for delivering a range of independent, high quality and evidence-based assessments, quality assurance and continuous improvement tools with a focus on workplace and vocational education. It also provides recruitment solutions and services to assist clients with the selection of candidates for employer-based programs via high-stakes, secure testing.
The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Director will be the establishment and ongoing management of a high profile project focused on the end-to-end delivery of a high-stakes, online assessment process.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing complex projects to a high standard within demanding timeframes. The management of the program involves coordinating a large team of external and internal staff who contribute to the successful delivery of the program. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience managing a diverse group of staff to achieve successful outcomes.
You will have a relevant tertiary degree, excellent problem-solving and risk management skills, experience in using technology to introduce efficiencies and innovation, exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage tight timelines. Formal qualifications in PRINCE2, or another project management framework, are required.
This position will require occasional weekend work in support of test centre operations. Occasional interstate travel will also be required.

This position is offered as a full time, ongoing appointment with an annual salary of $115,807 - $127,995 plus 17% ACER contribution to superannuation, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
