Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Dietetics
Health And Wellbeing
Grade 7/8 - £34,189 - £50,132 per annum (pro-rata) dependent on experience
With our academic staff delivering to 2000 students, the Department of Allied Health Professions at Sheffield Hallam is dynamic, forward thinking, friendly - and one of the UK's largest providers of Allied Health Professions Education. This is an opportunity to be part of our developing dietetic team where our teaching staff are registered dietitians with a wealth of experience in both the academic and clinical environment.
You will be involved in teaching students across our pre-registration MSc Dietetics Programme based at the university as well as contributing to our inter-professional education modules within the Faculty. The team particularly requires qualified dietitians with experience of and ability to teach about dietetic practice in acute and long term conditions requiring dietary modification and/or the application of the nutrition support pathway in a range of settings and lifespan groups. Experience of and ability to teach about paediatric settings and mental health, while not essential, would be useful.
You will contribute to a range of modules and will work alongside module teams within the subject group. There will be opportunity to engage with students through lectures, workshops, action learning sets, practical activities and research supervision.
You must have a professional qualification in dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. You will also have well-developed and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to Dietetic Practice. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to reflect on, and to modify and adapt your practice to ensure continuing effective performance.
If you are offered this post you will be subject to an Enhanced with lists check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
We welcome applications for this role specifically from applicants who wish to undertake the role alongside concurrent dietetic practice and offer flexible working arrangements.
Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from all candidates irrespective of age, pregnancy and maternity, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, or marital or civil partnership status.
