Student Counsellor (1.0 FTE) Ref: ALC855

Fixed-term (2 years) available immediately

£33,199 to £39,609 per annum

Contributing to the success and wellbeing of the UEA student population, the Counsellor will work with a team of other counsellors, mental health and disability advisers within the Wellbeing Section of the Student Support Service. The post holder will deliver, one-off counselling sessions as well as one to one therapy, aimed at supporting students in managing low/medium level distress.

Holding a degree or having equivalent level of qualification or experience, you will be qualified to a minimum of Diploma level in Counselling/Psychotherapy. You must have substantial experience of assessing and working psychotherapeutically with a broad base of presenting problems, experience of working with and managing risk and have an understanding of the Higher Education context. As part of the role you will also be required to run therapeutic workshops.  

This appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
