Position Focus:

Provide brand and graphic support for web assets, publications, presentations, campaigns and events. Serve as a videographer and photographer for departmental projects and initiatives. Maintain the digital library. Contribute to the maintenance of departmental websites, as needed.

This is a non-benefit eligible temporary position.

Essential Duties

  1. Designs, edits, proofreads, prepares layouts, and formats online and printed materials utilizing appropriate equipment and/or software.
  2. Delivers creative, cost effective solutions for all projects (email, web, print, etc.).
  3. Capable of supporting clients with questions about production techniques, materials, project specifications, graphic content, and media requirements.
  4. Works collaboratively with interactive teams to create a seamless communications effort, with the goal of ensuring Yale’s pre-eminence in communicating its key programs and stories.
  5. Maintains shared server resources. 
  6. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and three to five years of experience working in complex organizations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and similar graphic editing tools. Capable of taking high-quality photographs with DSLR, utilizing audio and video equipment, and video editing. Capable of editing content management systems such as Drupal.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Proven ability to efficiently multitask and meet deadlines.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Proven ability employing contemporary multi-media practices including web, social media, video, etc.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Knowledge of quality assurance processes.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Primarily a graphic designer, with a secondary background in photography, videography and website content management.
