The Bristol Medical School is seeking to appoint an outstanding neuroscientist, who is expected to develop an independent research programme. We particularly encourage applications from basic neuroscientists able to bridge molecular/cellular neurobiological mechanisms of neuropsychiatric and cognitive disorders to our world-leading strengths in population mental health.
You will also play a key role in our postgraduate teaching programmes, including our highly successful and long-standing MSc in Molecular Neuroscience, contributing to the School’s growing portfolio of educational programmes. (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/medical-school/study/postgraduate/).
You will be based in a thriving cross-disciplinary laboratory environment that encourages collaboration between research groups. We can support you with facilities that include proteomics, genomics, imaging and in vivo research, as well as human and clinical studies. We will provide you with tailored support towards your career development.
We welcome applications from research fellows and postdoctoral researchers who have established independent research profiles, as well as from those already in established positions. We are a vibrant and forward-thinking School – supported by a like-minded University – and seek dynamic colleagues who will relish the opportunity to get involved and further raise the profile of our neuroscience research. The University of Bristol is ranked among the top five UK institutions for research excellence (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/research/).
The Interview process is expected to take place in mid-January.
