At TU Dresden, Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, Institute of Media and Communication, the Chair of Media and Communication / Science and Technology Communication offers, subject to resources being available, a position as
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
within the research project “PaCE – Populism and Civic Engagement”, starting 1 February 2019. The position is limited until 31 January 2022. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG). The position entails 50 % of the fulltime weekly hours and offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g PhD). Upgrading the position in terms of working hours may be possible.
Tasks: PaCE is a cooperation between nine European universities and research institutions. Funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union, PaCE aims at analyzing populist movements across Europe, specify challenges to liberal democracies and develop counter-measures. The advertised position will be responsible for the development and implementation of tools to analyze populist narratives in the media.
Requirements: university degree (diploma, MA) in Communication (or equivalent discipline); interest in academic qualification. Candidates with experience in Political Communication, Computational Social Science and English-language publications are in particular encouraged to apply.
