Applications are invited for the post of Information Assistant (Customer Services Team) in the Library Services Department. This position is a fixed term contract from 7 January 2019 to 30 June 2019

We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident, and team-orientated individual to join the Customer Services team as an Information Assistant.

As part of the Customer Services team, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of an effective and efficient Customer focused Library service, carrying out a varied range of tasks.  They will deal with stock and user accounts enquires, assisting customers in using equipment such as Self Service kiosks / Laptops and participation in stock management activities. 

These are all key responsibilities which contribute to providing an excellent experience for Royal Holloway students.  The post holder will provide essential support within the Customer Services team, dealing with day to day activities such as maintaining user membership accounts, and dealing with user enquiries via the Enquiry Management System, Footprints.

The successful applicant will also be involved in the Student First initiative, in bringing together a joined up service with in the Emily Wilding Davison Building. They will also liaise with members of the Library’s Information Consultant’s Team as appropriate.  

You will have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals. You should have previously worked in a Customer Service / Library environment for a period of 9 months, have good IT skills, and the ability to communicate and convey information to Library users via Social Media.  You will be committed to your personal development and the Library is committed to providing opportunities and support for your professional development. 

Hours of work: Monday – Friday (35 hours) and the occasional weekend duty. 

This is a full time role and is immediately available.This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
